offbeat All of us have a private life besides our professional life; A wife an kids, maybe. Family. Friends and hobbies. The little things, that brings us joy and illuminates our existence. To paint a complete picture of your personality, this side is as important as the professional one. I personally find great joy in writing. A couple of novels for kids rests in my drawer and await the necessary time for completion. I have no rush - this is relaxation and pleasure writing. I take a strong interest in Europe's history from the medieval up till today, but with special emphasis on the two great wars and the years, that followed; the cold war, Cuba, Vietnam, the fall of the Berlin Wall - "my century" so to speak. I enjoy traveling when my personal finances permit, and have been fortunate enough to travel a few times for the companies, where I have been employed, and on other occasions with my wife and family or a couple of good buddies. I have visited the USA twice (fantastic country!), I have been to Poland, Spain and France - and recently in Norway, just to inspect... a cannon! Weird, I know, but there is a reasonable explanation. As a result of my general historic interest, I have taken a fancy to the last remnants of the once so mighty Third Reich - namely the ruins of Hitler's Atlantic Wall. In this I have joined the merry band of bunker-nerds and in spite of my age, I am happy to spend a Sunday afternoon worming myself into a partly buried bunker on the Danish west coast or be half submerged in stale water in a forest fortification somewhere, just to be able to photo-document the place. (I am even writing a sort-of user guide on the subject - the tech writer will never rest, ya know :) It will be posted on the net when there is enough food-for-reading. As time allows, I will also upload a number of photo galleries on this spot (see right column), - things of common interest and thrilling (!) bunker pictures, check it out. If a link is inactive it means that content is pending - be patient and come back later. Also please pardon me that some faces are blurred with a Smiley - one cannot display peoples faces on the net without permission - not even best friends - so Smiley's are the easy way out. PS: Do not hesitate to contact me if you yourself is planning a bunker-tour to Denmark. I will be happy to share my knowledge with you. p TOP
